This policy covers the games made by Dad Joke Games ("we", "us") and the website at dadjoke.games. It explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it.

The short version

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. We identify you by a random player ID and a nickname you choose. We store your game progress so it follows you to a new device. Our games may show ads, count gameplay events so we can balance levels, and send crash reports. Where the law requires it, we ask your permission first.

What every one of our games collects

Account and identity

When you sign in, Unity Gaming Services creates a player ID — a random string, not tied to your real name. You can sign in with:

You also choose a nickname. Where a game has leaderboards, it is visible to other players.

Game progress

Stored in Unity Cloud Save and Unity Economy against your player ID: your progress, scores, achievement counters, and which items you own. This is what lets you reinstall a game and keep everything.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive a transaction receipt so we can confirm the purchase and unlock the item. We never see your card details, billing address or any other payment information. Those stay with Apple or Google.

Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how a game is played, for example when a level starts and ends and whether it was completed. Alongside those events Firebase collects app version, device model, operating system, coarse country and a pseudonymous app instance identifier. We attach your player ID so a session can be followed across devices.

Crash reports

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics. When a game crashes we receive the crash trace, device model, operating system version, and a short trail of what the game was doing beforehand. This is used only to fix bugs.

Remote configuration

We use Firebase Remote Config to adjust settings such as reward amounts. It sends us no personal data about you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use these providers, each with its own privacy policy:

Provider What for Their policy
Unity Technologies Sign-in, cloud save, in-game economy https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
Google Ads, analytics, crash reports, Android sign-in, purchases https://policies.google.com/privacy
Apple iOS sign-in, App Store purchases https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Our own servers at api.dashblade.dadjoke.games handle leaderboards.

Why we are allowed to do this (EEA / UK / Switzerland)

How long we keep it

Game progress is kept while your account exists. Analytics and crash data are kept for the retention period Google applies to those products, currently up to 14 months for analytics events. Ad data retention is governed by Google.

Your choices and rights

Children

Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will remove it.

The website

dadjoke.games is a static site. It sets no advertising cookies, uses no analytics, and does not track you across other sites.

Changes

We update this page when our games change, and change the "last updated" date above. Significant changes are announced in the affected game.

Our games

Dashblade (Android, iOS)

Advertising. Dashblade shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS, the Advertising ID on Android), your IP address and the approximate location it implies, and which ads you were shown and interacted with.

On iOS, personalised advertising uses the IDFA only if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt shown on first launch. Decline and ads still work, but are not personalised. You can change this later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears before any ads load and you can accept or decline. Declining does not remove ads, it makes them non-personalised.

On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.

Leaderboards. Your nickname, your scores and your country are sent to our servers so leaderboards can be shown and grouped by region. Country is derived from your IP address at the time of the request. We do not keep your IP address as part of your profile.

Purchases. Dashblade sells ad removal and cosmetic skins. Nothing else is sold, and there is no subscription.
